Rue des Métiers d'Art
Renowned for its cutlery (the oldest folding knife in France!), today Nontron regularly welcomes, and pays to tribute to, those who have made their profession into an art. In the centre of town, the Rue des Métiers Show hosts around 30 craftspeople and artisans dedicated to decoration and furniture, tableware, jewellery and fashion accessories.
In the heart of the Green Perigord countryside, far from the big cities, these artisans express a savoir-faire and creativity that combine aesthetics with innovation. Leather craftsmen, potters, wood-turners, cabinetmakers, weavers, glass blowers, enamellers… they'll demonstrate how they master clay, glass, wood, textiles, leather, paper or metal.
For everyday use, or just for pleasure, treat yourself to something from their latest collections, unique items produced in small series, unusual and lasting objects, produced locally and suitable for contemporary usage, everything you need to give an original and elegant touch to your table, your house and your family!
