The Fumel hydraulic power station, after some 80 years of service, is still active; and with good days ahead of it, for its ability to provide us with this renewable energy that we so need.
Of the "run-of-river" type, it was built by Pont-à-Mousson, then owner of the Fumel metallurgical factory which had an increased need for energy for the reconstruction of France... We were just after the war …
You will enter the power plant for a panoramic view of the two Kaplan turbines, real collector's items! The tour does not go down to the lower levels.
