In a family atmosphere, in the heart of the Charente countryside, outside the regulated areas and their constraints, come and enjoy the moments of a discovery flight or an initiation flight.
Come and discover new sensations and why not start a training course at the flying school, but you can also come and discover your region from the sky, the Gironde estuary, Cordouan, the Arcachon basin, the Dordogne valley, your village and your house from above and many others... Come and live your desires, your dreams, the pleasure of offering.

The Chalais swimming pool has two pools, one for children and the other equipped with a diving pit and three diving boards. All summer long, swimming lessons are held at the pool. Introductory scuba diving courses are offered once a month in July and August.

Picnic area near a fitness trail and the banks of the Tude. There are benches along the river for you to relax and enjoy. Two wooden tables are available a few metres from the iron bridge.
This area has a large free car park, accessible to cars and motor homes. There is a service area for emptying motorhomes. For children, there is a playground about 100 meters away, in the direction of the post office.

Looking for a picnic table to take a break between visits? No time to go to a restaurant? Stop off at Chalais, a village known for its castle and its local speciality, "Veau de Chalais".
Near the post office, a picnic area has been set up with wooden tables and benches. Children can have fun and enjoy themselves in the Tude Gardens on the playground which has swings, slides and turnstiles. Access to the playground is available for children from 2 to 8 years old.

Are you planning to visit the Château de Chalais? Take the opportunity to prepare a good meal and come and enjoy it at the foot of the monument. Shaded wooden tables are set up near the drawbridge...
We prefer to warn you, the path is a bit steep to get there. It is advisable to drive closer and park in the car park in front of the castle. Once up there, you will have a majestic view of the ramparts of the fortress, with the village and the Tude valley below. Sit on the grass in front of the castle to eat your picnic.

The International Chamber Music Festival attracts music lovers from all over the Charente and beyond in some unique heritage sites. Major musical compositions are performed by the great names of the current world classical music scene.

An exhibition of the work of around thirty craftspeople in the magnificent cloister of the church of Saint-Martial in Chalais! A key event for arts and crafts in the South Charente, in Chalais.
Introductory workshops are available on site during the exhibition.

Head to the picnic area of Saint-Quentin-de-Chalais to rediscover the simple pleasure of lunching on the grass. This beautiful green space is a must for the whole family.
Children can venture out to the playground provided for them. This includes a slide, a swing and a turnstile. A table is also available under the awning of the village hall.



A few meters away, on a hill overlooking the village, you can admire the Saint-Quentin church while enjoying your sandwich

If you're short of last minute goods, there is a local market every Monday morning in the town centre. Here you can do your shopping and meet the local producers.

The Vallier pond is located in Brossac in the South Charente. In the heart of nature it offers multiple activities for the whole family. The calm and the omnipresent nature will get you relaxation and resourcefulness.

Villas and cottages are located around the pond. The club house offers a snack bar for your meals.

What could be better than sunbathing, accompanied by a spring breeze in summer? An improvised picnic of course! Come and bring your lunch and eat at the foot of the Saint-Etienne Abbey, a listed historic monument.
There are two picnic tables on site, sheltered by umbrella pines. At the end of the meal, you can go for a walk along the Pharaon river, which runs through the village, or along the Galope Chopine, a 27 km long greenway linking Baignes to Barbezieux.

Of course, it is highly recommended to visit the Saint-Etienne Abbey before leaving. Its origins date back to the 11th century. Legend has it that the church was destroyed by the Saracens and then rebuilt by Charlemagne.
