Every year, mid-January
During this weekend-long event created by the Groupement des Producteurs de Truffes du Périgord Noir and the city of Sarlat, you may participate in various activities on the theme of this emblematic mushroom.
A number of workshops are open to the general public to reveal all the subtleties of the truffle, such as workshops on truffle identification and aroma or informed truffle purchasing.
A large truffle market will be held over the weekend, featuring an abundance of fresh truffles as well as derived products and related items (such as books and live truffle oaks).
Truffle-hunting demonstrations with trained dogs will take place twice a day in the trufflery to be set up on Place du Peyrou (the cathedral square).

The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux is organising the 14th Weekend des Grands Crus, an outstanding event bringing together wine enthusiasts.
This year's event will take place from 24 to 26 May 2019 and features several high points, including the chance to taste over 110 Grands Crus, while enjoying views over the banks of the Garonne River. Representatives from each estate will present their 2016 vintage as well as one other wine. This ideal opportunity to meet château owners and representatives is followed by unique activities such as private dinners at selected estates, as well as vineyard discovery tours complete with wine tastings and lunch. The weekend dedicated to fine wine will draw to a close with the Union Cup golf tournament at the Golf du Médoc.

The young Côtes de Bourg wine growers organise a musical and tasting time during a night market in a huge parc close to the river.
Until 2:00 am, taste our French cuisine cooked by young farmer: oysters, meet, vegetable, enjoy it for low prices and a musical animation is planned throughout the evening.

The Flow des Gabarriers is an open-water swimming event on the Charente River in Cognac. It is the longest non-stop open water marathon (33kms) in France, sponsored this year by Amy Ennion.
The longest non-stop open water marathon in France passes through 12 villages in the Charente region. You'll be captivated by the beauty of the river and the way you see the landscape from the water's edge. The succession of stone bridges, the transparent water bottom, the natural beauty of the banks of the Charente. Unlike open water in a marine environment, you won't have to suffer the friction of salt, waves or opposing currents, or the burns of gelatinous marine life...

Come and discover the history of our region 20 million years ago, when Aquitaine was covered by the sea in a tropical climate...
The guided tour begins with the museum's collections (shark teeth, corals, tropical shells) and continues with a short walk in the forest beside a river where you can admire, among other things, thousands of fossils in the open air.
