The Ossau gîte is the largest of the L'escargot bleu gîtes, located on a large 2 hectare property, in the quiet rural district of St-Pée, near the Oloron Sainte-Marie health trail.
Covering an area of 85 m2, this furnished tourist accommodation can comfortably accommodate 6 people (2 bedrooms sleeping 2 people each + 1 sofa bed in an alcove).
Convenient for families: a shower room and separate toilets, windows and electric sockets all equipped with child safety devices.
Large connected television ("smart TV") with flat screen and multimedia gateway ("Chromecast"). Wifi. Loan of childcare equipment on request.
Situated on the first floor, accessible by a staircase with ERP standards (wide and low steps), this holiday rental enjoys from its private terrace of more than 30 m2 a very beautiful view of the park and the Pyrenees.
At L'Escargot bleu, after a busy day of touring the bastides of the Piedmont or discovering the Pyrenees on foot or by bike, you will enjoy relaxing in the large swimming pool with a paddling pool for the little ones and massage jets for the adults.
Children can enjoy the playground in complete safety in a completely fenced-in green area or pamper the animals on our mini-farm.
Cousinades, reunions with friends, sports gatherings... Do you want to go away together while keeping your independence? Rent several gîtes!
Each of the gîtes has its own secure room for bikes or ski equipment
Dogs are welcome, as well as horses, which we can accommodate in an electrified paddock.
We are located in a country hamlet at the exit of Oloron Sainte-Marie, 5 minutes walk from a river
The entire site (2 hectares) has been designed for families, especially those travelling with their animals. Thus, the private garden is fenced at 1m20 high, and we were inspired by all that we had been able to appreciate during our own stays in the gîte: large swimming pool with paddling pool for the little ones and massage nozzles for the older ones, playground, games room, mini-farm, bike shelters, regional products on the spot. Our house is located on the property; we will know if you wish to make us available to advise you at best. You will also find a wide range of documentation on site (brochures but also maps, topo-guides, etc).

Producer of Jurançon wine, red and rosé from Bearn. Certified Ecocert SAS 32600 F
Organic farming since 1964. Visit and free tasting by appointment for the groups.
Winemakers in the A.O.C. Jurançon wine(Protected Appellation of Origin), Patrice and Freya welcome you in their house of the XVIIIth century. The property overlooks the traditional village of Lasseube and is located in front of the Pyrenees chain. The tranquility of the vaulted cellar invites you to taste dry and soft wines from a singular countryside. Another room is reserved for the reception of groups up to 50 persons.
This beautiful loop follows the signposted "Tour du Dolmen" trail, with an extension from the station. It allows you to discover the Béarn countryside surrounded by the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Away from the beaten track, it has a few surprises in store: it passes through 2 remarkable villages, a dolmen - the largest in the département - and a section of the Chemin du Piémont Pyrénéen, following in the footsteps of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!
The first sections of the Ossau Valley greenway/bike route have been completed. It will eventually link Buzy to Eaux-Bonnes and will cross 9 municipalities.
To date, 13 km of cycle route (Buzy/Bielle and Geteu/Laruns station sections) with rest areas equipped with multifunctional bicycle terminals. A very easy bike ride at the foot of the mountains, at the entrance of the green Ossau valley, on a greenway that took over from an old railroad. It has a bucolic landscape dimension on the edge of the powerful river Gave that comes down from the mountains, but also a heritage dimension.
The Hondet farm is located in Lasseubetat, on the Jurançon hillsides between Oloron Sainte-Marie and Pau. It's a small, family-run business in full expansion, whose main activity is the force-feeding and processing of fattened ducks.
Initially, the Hondet farm was devoted to dairy cows. In 1983, the introduction of milk quotas weakened the then booming farm, forcing us to diversify. We opted for duck force-feeding.
Our products are sold on the farm: duck ribs and sausages, pâtés with foie gras and semi-cooked foie gras, preserves.
In the hills of Monein, on the route of Jurançon vines near Lacommande, the “Maison Canterou” is in a wine-farm qualified as “Agriculture raisonnée », Marie-JO and her daughter Corinne will host you as real friends.
This typical Béarn farm, dating from 1860, relates the history of the family, generation after generation. 3 rooms, with carefully chosen décor, are arranged on the first floor of the house, overlooking the vineyards, with delightful views of the hillsides. All of the rooms have full bathroom facilities. Table d’hôte set meals 3 times a week.
Special Features: Tasty breakfasts made with home-made products (yoghurts, jams, crêpes, French toast) are served on a beautiful flower-filled terrace, facing the Pyrenees.
In the village of Buzy, 30 kms from Pau, the ossau gardens offer you a production of small fruits and jams. Ideal for picking fruit at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. The farm is located near the peat bog of Buzy.
Sale of fruits and home-made jams all year round. Possibility of picking berries (mainly blueberries) in July and August. On site you will find a natural camping area for a quiet stay in the middle of nature.
In the heart of a protected natural site, in the village of Buzy, is the campsite Les Jardins d'Ossau. The flora and fauna is particular with a peat bog (sphagnum mosses, carnivorous plants, droséras). Ideal for a starting point for a hike in the Ossau Valley.
It is a campsite set in the middle of nature, with 12 pitches on a large shady meadow, wooden chalets to rent by the week and a berry orchard, which you can pick yourself and also learn how to make delicious jams. The campsite Les Jardins d'Ossau welcomes you for a relaxing and educational holiday. On-site sale of jams, fruit and vegetables.
Near Oloron Sainte-Marie, at the end of a long road (sports cars and road bikes, contact us), we welcome you in an old 17th century farmhouse, enthroned in the middle of a preserved nature and overlooking the mountains of Béarn and the Basque Country. Renovated as a charming guest house, with traditional and ecological materials, it will plunge you into a retro and nostalgic atmosphere while offering you modern and quality comfort with a family suite (up to 6 people) and two spacious rooms. Areas for relaxation and well-being are at your disposal: swimming pool, hammam, gym, lounge, garden, massage on reservation..., as well as our suggestions for local discoveries. Local products and organic vegetables are on the menu of our generous and inspired table d'hôtes (some days of the week, on reservation).
NEWS: The restaurant Chez Zélie offers takeaway meals to order on Sunday lunchtime. Reservation required within the week.
Sunday lunchtime pick-up on site, remember to bring your containers.
This establishment welcomes you in a modern and luminous setting with sober and soothing tones.
The restaurant offers a local and traditional cuisine, based on a maximum of fresh and local products to honour the menu with traditional specialities. Meals are served either in the dining room or on the terrace.
Also at your disposal: a post office as well as a deposit of bread and newspapers.

A holiday home in the heart of the countyside, a few kilometres from Oloron-Sainte-Marie, on the doorstep of the Jurançon vineyards.
This detached holiday house is one of the buildings of a large Béarn farmhouse, offering another holiday home and bed and breakfast. The holiday home is distinguished by its fireplace and its old beams, giving a homely atmosphere. Marie always reserves a special welcome for her guests and talks lovingly about her native Béarn.
