One of the oldest churches in the region, Saint-Cybard de Porcheresse was built in the 11th century. It is still surrounded by its cemetery, which is one of its special features.
The church has the same similarities as the churches in the area (Etriac, Puypéroux, Bécheresse or Côteaux du Blanzacais). It has narrow windows in the buttresses and rubble stone walls. In the 12th century, it was reworked and consolidated to receive vaults.
This monument was classified as a "Monument Historique" in 1913.
The patron saint of the church was the monk Cybard, who came from Dordogne in the 6th century. He lived for a long time in a cave under the plateau of Angoulême.
