Created in 1616 by François de Chadirac, a local notable, it is the oldest wine-producing property in the commune of Vertheuil.
Since 1959 and the acquisition of the estate by Denise and Paul Riffaud, the contemporary history of the Souley Sainte Croix merges with that of the Riffaud family, which today exploits 27 hectares of vines.
