In the centre of the vineyards that bear his name, Bordeaux raises its superb facades on the banks of the Garonne. The districts of Saint-Pierre, Saint-Michel, dominated by its Gothic spire, and Sainte-Eulalie, rich in convents, are reminders of the city's prosperity in the Middle Ages. The Palais Rohan marks its modernization in the 18th century, continued from the Grands Hommes district, near the Grand Théâtre and the Allées de Tourny, to the public garden.
Bordeaux is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first distinguished urban ensemble in such an area. Its homogenous architecture and more than 350 listed buildings or listed as Historic Monuments, including 3 listed as World Heritage since 1998 under the Roads to Compostela, make it one of the most attractive cities in France. Come and discover it in all its richness and diversity during the visits of the Tourist Office.
