Cognac, home of Jean Monnet and François 1er, is also a town of Art and History with its medieval quarter, the Château des Valois, houses and mansions along the cobbled streets, but also the church of St Léger, the Récollets convent, the Town Hall and its English-style garden, the François 1er park without forgetting the Charente and its various river activities. After this visit, head for Javrezac where you will discover houses and farms with typical Charentaise architecture as well as wash houses and mills, including that of Les Angeliers on the river l'Antenne. Following this beautiful valley of the Antenne, rich in flora (oaks - frescos - maples) and fauna (wild boar - roe deer - otters - European mink and bats), you will notice beautiful dovecotes (château de Richemont), mills including that of Prézier, fountains and wash houses as in Cherves where you will stop near the medieval cross in front of the church. On the way back to Cognac, you will not fail to visit the ruins of the church of Saint-Marmet which dominate the promontory overlooking the Charente at Boutiers St Trojan then the last few kilometres will be along the Charente.

Aboard an electric train, discover the immense and precious reserve of Cognac Fine Champagne and Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie in the best conditions, both entertaining and relaxing. Situated in the middle of the vineyards, La Maison Tranquille is a 4 double bedroom gîte (sleeps 8), with a heated swimming pool and private garden, ideal for groups of friends and families looking for a peaceful holiday.
The house and gite were originally built in 1865, so the renovation, which was completed in 2020, has been sympathetically completed to incorporate many original features

Maison Tranquille is spacious (approx 190m 2) and has four bedrooms, two en-suite, as well as a large family bathroom with shower and free-standing bath. All bedrooms overlook the gardens.

Equipment includes a fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

The gite is cleaned and linen changed once a week on Saturdays and this is included in the rental price.

Romanesque abbey dating from the end of the 11th century.
Listed historical monument on 24th August 1948. Exceptional site due to its secluded location.
The transept and choir were partially destroyed during the 100 Years' War, while the convent buildings were burnt down during the Wars of Religion in 1562.
The community of Augustinian monks then began to decline.
The abbey was sold as a national asset in 1795, and then converted into an earthenware factory until 1825.
The abbey is undergoing major restorations designed to safeguard and restore it. embellish it.

Located 5 km from the center of Cognac, in the heart of the Grande-Champagne, premier cru of our prestigious liqueur, you will find in our family farm 4 guest rooms with refined decoration.
Pen: Room located on the first floor. Under a large skylight, you will find a large bed of 160 cm with comfortable bedding, a bathroom with shower and toilet.

Comforter: Bedroom located on the first floor with garden view includes 2 twin beds, a beautiful old bath and private WC.



We opened Peacock feather and nest in 2018.

Peacock feather: Located on the ground floor, it has a 140 cm bed and a small private terrace overlooking the garden.

Birdhouse: Located upstairs includes a large bed 160 and a magnificent view of the Charente countryside.



These last two rooms have a bathroom and toilets to share.



A wifi connection is free and available throughout the area. You can sit in small garden lounges scattered here and there and relax by the pool.

Véronique concocts small dishes from her vegetable production and her low court at a price of 28 € on reservation.
