The Cécile Sabourdy Museum and Gardens aim to introduce visitors to the universe of unusual creators, offering a large perspective of Naive "raw art", modern art and an entire range of unclassifiable art.
The message is clear : art is everywhere, and especially in the places you least expect it to be, a canvas, piece of cardboard or a simple wooden board.
The museum is located in an gorgeous 18th century presbytery. Its extraordinary art works trigger curiosity and bring visitors to perceive the world in a whole new way.
Guided tours are available and visitors can rent one of the rooms for events. The museum organizes workshops and tours of the garden. Educational booklets are also available.
Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre is located west of Limoges in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park. The town is built around the 12th century church and several charming 18th century bourgeois residences. Nature is important here : be sure to visit « Le Jardin de Liliane », a lovely garden that has a « Remarkable garden » label and won 4th place in a national garden contest in 2008. « L’étang de la poule » pond is a classified Natura 2000 reserve where you can observe many migrating birds. Our Tourist Office has an exhibition room with works by local craftspeople and also invites visitors to discover the other towns in the area : Gorre, Saint-Cyr, Saint-Auvent, Cognac-la-Forêt and Sainte-Marie-de-Vaux.

Welcome to « Âne et Carotte » (Donkey and Carrot), the educational organic farm. The farm sells organic vegetables and eggs along with non-organic jam and other local products. The shop is open on Fridays from 4 :30pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 12 :30pm. They also deliver baskets and are present on local markets. « Âne et Carotte » also offers tours of the farm, meals, activities, donkey rides and stays at the farm : in a cabin, in a camper or even in a campground. Whether just for a meal, a show or a stay, Pascale and Lucien will give all 5 of your senses a taste of authentic.
