Cancellation of the Flow des gabarriers
The Flow des Gabarriers will not take place for safety reasons, as the Charente is too high and the current too strong.
The longest non-stop open water marathon in France passes through 12 villages in the Charente region. You'll be captivated by the beauty of the river and the way you see the landscape from the water's edge. The succession of stone bridges, the transparent water bottom, the natural beauty of the banks of the Charente. Unlike open water in a marine environment, you won't have to suffer the friction of salt, waves or opposing currents, or the burns of gelatinous marine life...
Accompanied by a ranger from the reserve, you will meet a tagger in the morning and watch him tagging small migratory birds come to recharge their batteries in the reed bed.
First occasion of the Night of Carrelets (small fishing cabins). From 6:30 pm to midnight, shows and walkabouts. Everybody's welcome and free entrance. In collaboration with Conseil Général de la Gironde, Communauté des Communes de l'Estuaire, Great Port of Bordeaux, Carrelet fishers Association, Territoires Imaginaires offers you an atypical and unique night, to make maritime and river heritage more attractive.
"Located in a preserved marshland, Terres d’Oiseaux has one of the largest reef beds in the Gironde Estuary. Explore the park over the course of a 2 hour night-time tour.
Because part of the world of nature awakens as daylight wanes, visitors can discover this little-known world during twilight excursions."
