Discovery of the landscapes as well as the fauna and flora typical of heather, the largest peat bog in Limousin, that of Longeyroux from the largest peat bog in Limousin.
A biological environment of major European interest, this peat bog lies at an altitude of 900m in the communes of Meymac, St Merd-les-Oussines, Chavanac and St Sulpice-les-Bois. It occupies a huge 250ha depression, where numerous springs and streams merge to form the Vézère. Its size, unusual landscapes and the diversity of its flora and fauna make the Tourbière du Longeyroux one of the natural gems of the Plateau de Millevaches.
Two paths allow visitors access to the peat bog. A booklet providing information on the two waymarked paths and the bog is available from Haute Corrèze Tourist Offices in Meymac and Bugeat (1€).

Discover the Rebière Nègre peat bog and the Gué heath, rare preserved ancestral territories, rub shoulders with carnivorous plants, cranberries, linseed, newt…Let yourself be overwhelmed by the scents of blueberry heath and heather.
