Le Lanternon

A historic house built in 1885 on the port of Saint Martin de Re, with a view of the port, the sea and the city. It has a large south-facing garden with a swimming pool and a wellness area.
We have recently opened a guest house on the port of Saint Martin, capital of the Ré island, in the heart of the Vauban citadel classified as a world heritage site. Passionate about the island for many years, we fell in love with this 1885 house, one of the most beautiful and emblematic of Saint Martin. The lantern that crowns it offers a spectacular 360° panorama of the port, the sea and the city. After renovation, the house has regained its lustre and preserved its mouldings, woodwork, parquet floors, fireplaces, porcelain basins, all the architectural treasures of the time. Choose from five spacious bedrooms, each unique, each with a brand new bathroom or shower room with antique porcelain basins. You will enjoy the peace and quiet of a large south-facing garden with a swimming pool and a wellness area. A breakfast composed of fresh products will be served in the wooded dining room or on the terrace. We can also offer you an aperitif with tapas. Numerous restaurants are within a five-minute walk from the house.
The rooms of the 1st floor have a ceiling height of 3,3m and those of the 2nd have cathedral ceilings with old exposed beams. All the bedding is new and top of the range. The beds are 180x200cm (Kingsize) and the decoration is very neat.
GUERMANTES: Master bedroom of 32 m² located on the 1st floor facing south and quiet, with a view on the garden. Bathroom separated by a private corridor with shower, bath and toilets.
ARONDE: Bedroom of 31m² located on the 1st floor, facing south and quiet, with view on the garden. Separate and adjoining shower room with shower and toilets.
HEMINGWAY: Bedroom of 24m² located on the 1st floor with view of the port. Separate shower room with large 90x180cm shower and toilets.
BATEAU IVRE: Bedroom of 26m² located on the 2nd floor with harbour view. Large shower room with Italian shower and toilets.
CANOPEE: Bedroom of 24m² located on the 2nd floor facing south and quietly overlooking the garden. A stone wall and white lime has been renovated and preserved. Separate and adjoining shower room with shower and toilets.
