Covering an area of 4,500 m², the Plaine du Gros Jonc leisure area has always been a favourite meeting place for families in Les Portes. It is also very popular with summer visitors, especially those with young children.

A skatepark was installed there during Michel Auclair's term of office. Three major objectives prevailed at the time of the call for tenders: the durability of the structure, with the choice of concrete to avoid premature deterioration of the structure, safety and environmental quality.
